Johnny Otis Porter Jr., a 48-year-old Black man, died on May 27, 2026, after an early-morning shooting at a residence in the 800 block of Justice Drive in Tampa, Florida, in the Carrollwood area. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said its 911 Dispatch Center received a call about a shooting at 5:21 a.m., sending deputies to the home while the neighborhood was just beginning to wake up.
