In the late hours of June 10, 2026, the sounds of gunfire shattered the evening calm in a Northwest Washington, D.C. apartment building, leaving a promising young life extinguished and a community in mourning. Responding to reports of a shooting at approximately 10:30 p.m., police discovered the body of 20-year-old Adrian Hawkins in a sixth-floor hallway.
