A pre-dawn shooting on May 8, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, left 48-year-old Daniel Almaguer dead and another man critically injured. The incident occurred just before 2:45 a.m. in the parking lot of the La Risa Apartment Homes located in the 800 block of Babcock Road on the city's Northwest Side. Almaguer and a 42-year-old companion were sitting inside a parked car when they were ambushed by two unknown assailants who opened fire on the vehicle.
