Tre’Sean Lamar Reid, a 23-year-old man from the Beaufort-area community of Lobeco/Allendale, South Carolina, died late Friday night, May 15, 2026, after a shooting in Port Royal. Police were called at about 10:58 p.m. to Shell Point Apartments at 287 Midtown Drive after reports of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found Reid suffering from what was described as an apparent gunshot wound. Officers began CPR at the scene until Beaufort County EMS arrived and took over emergency care.

Reid was transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, but he did not survive. The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office later identified him as the person killed in the shooting, and Chief Deputy Coroner Shane Bowers said Reid died at 11:38 p.m. from a gunshot wound. His obituary also confirmed that he died on May 15, 2026, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital and identified his parents as LaTonya L. Graham and Donald E. Reid.

The case remained under investigation by the Port Royal Police Department in the days after the shooting. Online reports available so far did not identify a suspect, announce an arrest, or describe any charges connected to Reid’s death. Police asked anyone with information to contact Beaufort County non-emergency dispatch or Beaufort County CrimeStoppers and to reference case number 26PR09522, indicating investigators were still seeking help from the public as they worked to determine who fired the shot that killed him and what led to the violence at the apartment complex that night.
