Death by Force

James Jenkins, 20, a male who was Black/African American, died on September 7, 2025, after being shot at the Cross Creek Apartments in Beaufort, South Carolina. Police were dispatched around 2:26–2:30 a.m. to 235/325 Ambrose Run for reports of gunfire and found James Jenkins, 20, of St. Helena Island, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead later that morning.
