In the early morning hours of May 17, 2026, the quiet of Franklinton, Louisiana, was broken by the sound of gunfire. Responding to a 911 call around 3 a.m., Washington Parish sheriff's deputies arrived at a scene off Jamieson Creek Road to find 64-year-old Johnny Slocum critically injured with a gunshot wound.
