On July 5, 2024, Lark Welborn Starnes, a 62-year-old resident of South Choctaw Road near Bogalusa, Louisiana, was found deceased behind his residence. The initial investigation by the Washington Parish Deputy Sheriffs, who responded to the scene at approximately 8:15 AM, determined that Starnes had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
