On the evening of March 21, 1980, 20-year-old Eve Wilkowitz went out to dinner and saw a movie in Manhattan with her boyfriend, Jack Dempsey. They returned to Dempsey’s home so Eve could take a quick nap and asked her boyfriend to wake her up in time to catch the 12:35 train back to Bayshore, Long Island. Eve worked in Manhattan for MacMillan Publishing House as a secretary.
