In the early hours of Sunday, May 17, 2026, the life of 19-year-old Alana Duck was tragically cut short in Jackson, Mississippi. A Black female from Brandon, she was fatally wounded in a shooting that erupted in the parking lot of a nightclub on Interstate 55 North Frontage Road. The incident, which occurred around 1:00 a.m., also left two other individuals with gunshot wounds; they were transported to local hospitals for medical attention.
According to initial police reports, a physical altercation involving several men broke out in the nightclub's parking lot. The confrontation escalated, leading to an exchange of gunfire. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Alana Duck inside a Black Honda Accord, suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body. Despite immediate attention, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The Hinds County Coroner later formally identified her.
The Jackson Police Department is actively investigating the homicide and has appealed to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of those responsible.
