In the quiet early morning hours at a Jackson, Mississippi hospital, a tragedy unfolded, ending the long life of 92-year-old Loyce Ivey. A patient at Baptist Medical Center, her life was cut short in what police have described as a murder-suicide.

On September 5, 2023, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Loyce Ivey was shot in her hospital room. The person responsible was her 95-year-old husband, Cecil Ivey. After shooting his wife, Cecil Ivey then moved to another room within the hospital and to ...
