In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 5, 2026, a violent altercation inside the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Reading, Pennsylvania, claimed the life of 57-year-old Jorge Luis Ocasio-Ortiz. A resident of Reading who was born in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, Ocasio-Ortiz was tragically caught in the crossfire of a dispute in which he had no part. He was a chef at Franklyn's Breakfast and Burgers and has been described by authorities as an innocent bystander.
