In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 5, 2026, the life of 39-year-old Johnta Raeshawn Fields was tragically cut short in Portsmouth, Virginia. Police responded to calls of a shooting in the 2400 block of Chestnut Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Fields suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital for medical attention, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
