On the evening of April 11, 2026, a dispute in the parking lot of the Hickory Lake Apartments in Antioch, Tennessee, tragically cut short the life of 27-year-old Charvante List. The incident, which unfolded just after 5 p.m., is believed to have stemmed from a personal conflict involving a woman with whom both List and the alleged shooter had been in relationships.
Authorities were called to the scene on Apache Trail where they discovered List suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his injuries. The investigation into the fatal shooting quickly focused on an 18-year-old who was identified as the woman's current boyfriend. He was taken into custody at the apartment complex for questioning by homicide detectives.
Following the initial investigation, the 18-year-old suspect, Demetrish Brown, was formally charged in connection with Charvante List's death. The charges brought against Brown include criminal homicide, felony reckless endangerment, and aggravated assault. The case is now proceeding through the criminal justice system.
