In the late hours of a Saturday night in Kansas City, Kansas, the Shawnee Heights neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On April 11, 2026, police were dispatched to the 600 block of Ridgeview Avenue around 11:45 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered 35-year-old Asael Linares outside his home, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, but tragically, his injuries proved to be fatal.
