Jarmel Benjamin Ellis, a 42-year-old man, was killed on Sunday afternoon, April 12, 2026, after a domestic-related shooting inside a home on Mitchell Street in Sumter, South Carolina. Officers were called to the residence just before 3:45 p.m., and when they arrived, they found Ellis inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. He was treated at the scene, then rushed to Prisma Health Tuomey, where he later died from his injuries.
