On the afternoon of April 15, 2026, Shemar Rayon Shackelford, a 30-year-old man, was fatally shot in the Parkland neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. in the 3000 block of Greenwood Avenue. Louisville Metro Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Shackelford with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Known to his loved ones as "Peanut," a nickname given to him because he was small at birth, he was remembered for his creative and gifted nature. He had a passion for creating his own original music, a love he shared with his father. He was also certified in computer programming and had an interest in website development. His family recalled a beautiful childhood filled with love and adventure.
The Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into the shooting.
