Javon Isiah Brown, a 35-year-old male from the Charleston area, died after a Wednesday night shooting in North Charleston, South Carolina, on April 15, 2026. Authorities said the violence unfolded in the Dorchester Terrace community, where North Charleston police were sent to the 2200 block of Bailey Drive at about 10:55 p.m. after multiple callers reported gunfire in the area.
When officers arrived, they found Brown lying outside in front of a nearby residence, suffering from gunshot
wounds. Emergency medical personnel and the North Charleston Fire Department responded and began lifesaving efforts, but Brown was pronounced dead after EMS arrived. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office later identified him and said his cause of death was a gunshot wound.
