In North Charleston, South Carolina, a young life was tragically cut short on the evening of July 19, 2025. Amir Sims, a 13-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in the backyard of a home on Azalea Drive. Neighbors and police responded to reports of gunfire, and upon arrival, officers discovered the unresponsive teenager. Emergency medical personnel rushed Amir to the Medical University of South Carolina, but he ultimately succumbed to a gunshot wound.
