On April 22, 2025, 42-year-old African American transgender woman Jamol Demetrius Seabrook, also known as Jasmyne Blair Scott, was fatally shot in North Charleston, South Carolina. The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Kraft Avenue. According to reports, Seabrook managed to seek help by banging on a neighbor's door, stating she had been shot.
