Torrance Lemar “Bear” McMurren, a 36-year-old Black male from Saginaw, Michigan, died after a late-night shooting on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The shooting happened around 10:50 p.m. in the 2400 block of North Bond Street on Saginaw’s west side, where officers arrived and found McMurren suffering from gunshot wounds. He was still alive when first responders reached him, and he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, but he later died from his injuries.
His death quickly became part of a troubling stretch of violence in Saginaw. Local reporting described the case as the city’s sixth homicide of 2026 and the third homicide in April alone.
