On the evening of April 26, 2026, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of an Indianapolis gas station, leaving a family heartbroken and a community in search of answers. Aaron Israel Smith, a 39-year-old man, was sitting in his car at the station located in the 3800 block of North Mitthoefer Road when he was fatally shot.
