Albert M. Schumpert, a 46-year-old man from Indianapolis, was killed on December 16, 2016, in a shooting incident on the city's east side. Schumpert was found by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers after they responded to reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered Schumpert suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene, but despite their efforts, Schumpert was pronounced dead at the scene.
