In the winter of 2016, the life of Albert M. Schumpert, a 46-year-old male, was cut short in a fatal shooting on the east side of Indianapolis. The incident occurred on the evening of Friday, December 16, 2016, near the intersection of 10th Street and Arlington Avenue. Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the scene where they found Mr. Schumpert suffering from gunshot wounds.
