In the afternoon of April 8, 2026, a dispute between two brothers in Virginia Beach, Virginia, escalated to a fatal conclusion. Emergency services received a report of a shooting in the 600 block of Chancery Square at approximately 1:31 p.m. Upon their arrival, police officers discovered 41-year-old Michael Armstrong inside a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Michael was a man known for his humor and vibrant personality, remembered by his family as the life of the party and a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
The investigation into the death of the male victim quickly led to the identification of a suspect: his own brother. Witnesses reported that the two had been in a dispute before a shot was fired. Within twenty minutes of the initial 911 call, police located and arrested 46-year-old Juan Armstrong in a nearby neighborhood. According to a criminal complaint, Juan Armstrong shot his younger brother in the head.
Juan Armstrong was taken into custody and subsequently faced multiple serious charges, including second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon.
