A man is found shot to death near his van On a Tuesday afternoon, October 25, 1988, the life of 46-year-old Emory Eli Carroll, a white male, was abruptly ended in the parking lot of the Chesapeake House on the Bay condominiums on Shore Drive in Virginia Beach. Around 5:00 p.m., the sound of several gunshots echoed through the area, drawing the attention of law enforcement.
