A man is found shot to death near his van
On a Tuesday afternoon, October 25, 1988, the life of 46-year-old Emory Eli Carroll, a white male, was abruptly ended in the parking lot of the Chesapeake House on the Bay condominiums on Shore Drive in Virginia Beach. Around 5:00 p.m., the sound of several gunshots echoed through the area, drawing the attention of law enforcement. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Mr. Carroll's body lying next to his blue 1975 Ford van.
