In Raleigh, North Carolina, on the evening of April 13, 2026, a dispute turned fatal, ending the life of 27-year-old Terrance Quarles. The incident unfolded around 5:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Thelma Street, where police responded to a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Quarles suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the shooting
led law enforcement to identify a suspect with whom Quarles was acquainted. Authorities determined that a physical altercation involving Quarles, the suspect, and other individuals had taken place prior to the fatal shot being fired. The relationship between Quarles and the primary suspect was described as a "non-dating relationship."
Shortly after the shooting, a collaborative effort between the Raleigh Police Department and the Wake County Sheriff's Office resulted in the apprehension of a suspect. Angie Giselle Bonilla Bravo, 21, was taken into custody on Trimblestone Way. She was subsequently charged with murder in connection with Quarles's death. Two other individuals were also arrested in relation to the incident. One is accused of arriving at the scene with Bravo, returning to retrieve a shell casing after the shooting, and driving Bravo away from the area. All three individuals were booked into the Wake County jail and were initially held without bail.
Terrance LeKeith Quarles Jr., known affectionately as “Lil' Terry, Terry and Chuck,” was born on May 28, 1998. He was a father to two daughters. His sudden death left his family and friends heartbroken, and the community was reminded of the tragic consequences of violence. A GoFundMe campaign was established to assist his family with funeral expenses.
