Taylor was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 1200-block of Boyer Street, just outside downtown Raleigh. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m., and the police were called to the scene shortly after the shooting.
Following the investigation, Raleigh Police made two arrests
in connection with the murder of Robert Earl Taylor Jr. Raymond Arrington, a 30-year-old male, was charged with murder, while Britney Johnson, a 32-year-old female, was charged with accessory after the fact of murder. The arrests were made on August 24, 2021, approximately two weeks after the incident. The police have not released additional information regarding the motive or circumstances leading to the shooting.
