In a north Minneapolis neighborhood, the afternoon of February 23, 2026, was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the lives of two brothers. Inside a home on the 4200 block of Irving Avenue North, 14-year-old Xavier Barnett and his 23-year-old brother, Akwane Stewart, were shot and killed.
