On the evening of Thursday, March 5, 2026, a hail of gunfire shattered the night in the Kingston community of Birmingham, Alabama, leaving 23-year-old Cornelius Lee Evans with fatal injuries. The young Black/African American man was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds in the 4600 block of Roscoe Avenue, within the Rev. Dr. Morrell Todd Homes public housing complex.
