On February 2, 2018, 17-year-old Michael Lee was fatally wounded during a shootout between two vehicles at McAlpine Park, located on the 1100 block of Avenue F in Ensley, Birmingham, Alabama. The incident reportedly stemmed from an online dispute that escalated into a physical confrontation. Following the exchange of gunfire, both vehicles fled the scene, and Lee was later found in Fairfield.
