In the late hours of January 27, 2026, the quiet of a Shreveport street was broken by the discovery of a man lying unresponsive in the roadway. That man was 43-year-old Morris Edwards III, a Black male, who was found by Shreveport Police Department officers around 9:15 p.m. following a report of an unconscious person.

Responding paramedics from the Shreveport Fire Department arrived at the scene and tragically pronounced Edwards deceased. It was soon determined that his death was no accid ...
