In Springfield, Missouri, on the afternoon of January 29, 2026, police were dispatched to a residence on East Elm Street to check on the well-being of a man reported to be suicidal. Upon their arrival at approximately 1:57 p.m., officers made a grim discovery inside the home. They found 33-year-old Devin Cogdill with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, but tragically, he did not survive.
