On a cold Saturday afternoon in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, the life of 32-year-old Leticia Velez was tragically cut short. On January 31, 2026, police responded to reports of a shooting at the Spring Hollow Apartments on East 3rd Avenue around 3:15 p.m. When they arrived, they discovered a grim scene. Inside one of the apartments, Velez and a man, identified as 33-year-old Tyrelle Dwayne Manley Sr., were both found deceased.
The York County Coroner's office was called to the scene shortly after 4:00 p.m. and later determined through autopsies that both Velez and Manley had died from multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation into the deaths quickly pointed towards a murder-suicide. A neighbor reportedly witnessed Manley shoot Velez before turning the gun on himself. The same witness recalled hearing loud noises, described as "banging around," coming from the apartment just before the fatal shots were fired.
As of early February, the York County Regional Police were still actively investigating the incident to piece together the sequence of events that led to the deadly confrontation. While the cause of death for both individuals was clear, the official manner of their deaths remained under investigation. Authorities had not released any information regarding a possible motive or the nature of the relationship between Velez and Manley.
