On the evening of New Year's Eve 2025, a tragic shooting in the Gate District of St. Louis led to the death of 29-year-old Darrius Euell. The incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of Rutger Street and Ohio Avenue. When officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the 2600 block of Rutger, they discovered Euell on the sidewalk, unconscious and with critical injuries.
