William Wills, 36, a male from St. Louis, was discovered on the evening of May 15, 2025, after firefighters forced their way into a burning apartment on the 5000 block of Pernod Avenue in the city's North Hampton neighborhood. As crews pulled him from the front room and began lifesaving measures, they realized he had suffered gunshot wounds in addition to severe burns. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
