A sense of celebration on New Year's Day was tragically shattered in Farmville, North Carolina, with the shooting death of 23-year-old Tazavian Jonta Webb. On January 1, 2026, deputies from the Pitt County Sheriff's Office were called to a residence on NC-121 just outside of town in the early morning hours. Upon their arrival, they discovered that two men had sustained gunshot wounds.
