A sense of celebration on New Year's Day was tragically shattered in Farmville, North Carolina, with the shooting death of 23-year-old Tazavian Jonta Webb. On January 1, 2026, deputies from the Pitt County Sheriff's Office were called to a residence on NC-121 just outside of town in the early morning hours. Upon their arrival, they discovered that two men had sustained gunshot wounds.
Tazavian Jonta Webb was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second victim, identified as 42-year-old Boris Graham, was transported to ECU Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and was later released. A third individual, 19-year-old Jaboris Graham, was also present at the home but was not injured in the incident.
Investigators with the Pitt County Sheriff's Office have indicated that the initial evidence suggests the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute. It is also believed that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the altercation. Authorities have confirmed that all three men were related and resided at the home where the shooting occurred. The investigation into the death of Tazavian Jonta Webb is ongoing, and as of now, no information regarding any arrests or suspects has been publicly released by law enforcement officials.
