In the quiet cold of a Michigan winter, the life of 19-year-old Cornelius Traves Murphy Jr. of Warren was tragically cut short. On the evening of Tuesday, January 6, 2026, it is believed that Murphy was fatally shot in the chest. His body, however, was not discovered until the following morning, around 8:16 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7.
