In the summer of 2006, the life of 31-year-old Markeda Lashia Byas was tragically cut short in a devastating act of violence in Pontiac, Michigan. On July 21st, first responders were called to a fire at her apartment, a scene that concealed a far more sinister reality than a simple blaze. Inside, authorities discovered the remains of Markeda and her infant daughter, two-month-old Arctavia Reed.
