In the early hours of July 3, 2017, the life of 23-year-old Marcus Allen Burkett was tragically cut short in his hometown of Pontiac, Michigan. A talented and well-loved tattoo artist known affectionately as 'Merk,' he was a student eagerly anticipating the fall semester at Oakland Community College. His aspirations and the love he shared with his family, including his daughter Taylor, were extinguished in a violent encounter that shook the community.
