In the winter of 2022, a family dispute in Pontiac, Michigan, escalated to a tragic and fatal conclusion. On the evening of Monday, February 7th, 32-year-old Antonio 'Scooby' Lee Mayes, a Black male, was shot and killed. The violent act took place inside his mother's apartment at the Phoenix Place Apartments on Woodward Avenue. Though his mother was not home at the time, the events that unfolded would forever alter the lives of her family.
