On the late afternoon of November 29, 2025, a violent confrontation disrupted the Town & Country Shopping Center in Hammond, Louisiana, leading to a tragic loss of life. Around 5:15 p.m., officers from the Hammond Police Department were dispatched to a hair salon located near the intersection of Highway 51 and West Thomas Street after receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon arriving at the scene, investigators discovered that an altercation had occurred between two teenagers, escalating until 18-year-old male Jermaine Stevenson Jr. was critically wounded by gunfire.
Witnesses and authorities established that Stevenson was not transported by ambulance but was instead rushed to North Oaks Medical Center in a personal vehicle belonging to an acquaintance.
