William Davis, a 24-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on June 13, 2016, in Hammond, Louisiana. The incident occurred near a playground on Scanlan Street, behind the popular Mooney Park. Witnesses reported that the shooting was the result of a drug deal gone bad. Davis, wounded and bleeding, ran for his life and collapsed on the steps of a relative's home a little more than a block away from where he was shot.
