In the early morning hours of Monday, December 1, 2025, a violent incident claimed the life of 38-year-old Eugene Devon Johnson in the Roseland neighborhood on Chicago's Far South Side. Officers from the Chicago Police Department were dispatched to the 10900 block of South State Street around 6:00 a.m. following reports of a person down.
