On December 9, 2025, a tragedy struck a residential complex in Odessa, Texas, claiming the life of Jacob Martinez, a 9-year-old Latino male, along with two of his family members. Officers from the Odessa Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at the 87th Street Apartments on Hunter Miller Way around 5:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of Jacob, his 13-year-old sister Kylie Madison Martinez, and their 39-year-old mother, Jessica Rodriguez, inside their home.
