On January 6, 2023, 15-year-old Bryan Sanchez was fatally shot in Odessa, Texas. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. when Ector County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to reports of a gunshot victim at a fast-food restaurant on West County Road. They found Sanchez inside a Ford Escape with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. He was transported to Medical Center Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
