On the afternoon of Thursday, December 11, 2025, a fatal shooting in South Dallas claimed the life of 39-year-old Antwan Bell. Police responded to reports of gunfire around 3:00 p.m. in the 2400 block of Meyers Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered Bell deceased inside a vehicle from gunshot wounds.
The investigation into the shooting led police to identify 23-year-old Shakuri Reece as the suspect. According to reports, Bell was sitting in his car when Reece allegedly opened fire.
Bell attempted to drive away, crossing the street, but Reece reportedly continued to shoot into the vehicle, eventually firing several shots through the front windshield. A witness to the event was able to provide a description of the suspect and the direction he fled.
Shakuri Reece was later arrested and charged with murder. At the time of his arrest, he was reportedly not wearing any clothes, a detail that aligned with some of the 911 calls made about the incident. Police later discovered his clothing and a. 22 caliber pistol in a nearby field. Investigators also found multiple. 22 caliber shell casings at the scene of the shooting. Reece was subsequently booked into the Dallas County jail. It was noted that at the time of the alleged murder, Reece was already out on bond for a previous charge of obstruction or retaliation. The investigation into Antwan Bell's death remains ongoing.
