On the night of December 12, 2025, tragedy struck a residential community in the Ahwatukee foothills of Phoenix, Arizona. Just after midnight, around 12:15 a.m., peace was shattered at the Allegro Luxury Apartments located in the 4400 block of East Chandler Boulevard. Phoenix Police Department officers rushed to the scene following reports of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, they discovered 37-year-old David Martin lying in the doorway of an apartment unit, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
Despite the immediate response of emergency services, Martin had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation revealed that the victim was found directly at his front doorstep. The aftermath of the violence created a distressing scene for the community, with reports indicating that family members, including young children, were inside the apartment at the time of the incident. To protect them from the crime scene at the front entrance, fire crews were forced to evacuate the family, including a toddler, using a ladder from a second-story balcony.
