In the spring of 2025, a burst of gunfire shattered the evening quiet in a South Phoenix neighborhood, leaving a family without a loved one and a community searching for answers. On the night of April 19th, police received multiple calls reporting shots fired in the vicinity of 5600 South 21st Place. Arriving at the scene around 8:25 p.m., officers discovered a man lying with at least one gunshot wound.
