In the winter chill of a Saturday night in Rapid City, South Dakota, a dispute between two groups of people tragically escalated, ending the life of 19-year-old Korben Barber on December 13, 2025. The fatal encounter unfolded near the intersection of West Main Street and Jackson Boulevard, where an altercation led to gunfire. First responders arrived at the scene to find Barber with severe injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital, but ultimately succumbed to his wounds.
