On the night of December 20, 2025, a violent series of events unfolded at an apartment complex located at 570 McMurray Drive in Nashville, Tennessee. Jose Manuel Jimiez Luna, a 24-year-old male, was returning home from work with his wife, though the couple was driving separate vehicles. As his wife attempted to park her Dodge Durango, she was ambushed by a masked gunman who ordered her to the rear of the vehicle.
The assailant proceeded to rob her of her wallet and cell phone before forcing her toward the passenger side, where he fired two gunshots into the SUV near the area where the couple's infant child was seated.
Simultaneously, the victim, who had been following in his Ram pickup truck, exited his vehicle and approached the front of the Durango. He was immediately confronted by a second armed suspect. According to witnesses, he entered into a physical struggle with one of the individuals and was subsequently shot. During the attack, his wife was also pistol-whipped and shoved to the ground before both suspects fled the scene.
Metro Nashville Police homicide detectives initiated an investigation into the fatal robbery. While the stolen cell phone was later recovered in the middle of the road on the 400 block of Blackman Road, no immediate arrests were reported following the incident. Authorities continued to search for the two gunmen responsible for the ambush and requested the public's assistance in identifying the suspects involved.
