On the night of November 20, 2025, deputies from the Navajo County Sheriff's Office responded around 9:20 p.m. to reports of a shooting in a residential neighborhood near Bruin Way and Branding Iron Loop in Pinetop, Arizona. At the scene they discovered Kerri Ann Abatti, a 59-year-old Caucasian woman from Pinetop, mortally wounded by a gunshot, and the case was immediately treated as a homicide.
